At locations everywhere throughout the Disneyworld parks are Disney photographers who will take your photo. It doesn't cost anything for them to take the photo, you can view and purchase later if you like. We've never had too many photos taken because I think the single photo price is too expensive. The downside of that is we always come home without very many photos of the whole family because one of us is taking the photos of the rest of us.
Disney now offers a Photopass CD on which they put all the photos taken during your vacation. The price is about $100 if you pre-order. You are allowed to print or email any photo on the CD or use however you want - they include a copyright release document on the CD. We decided to do it, so everywhere we went we had them take photos. Several times each day we'd see them and go have our photo taken. This included the photos they take at the character greetings. We ended up with over 160 photos so that makes the price more reasonable. Then when we got home, we were able to go online and add borders and Disney graphics to all the photos if we wanted. With all the edits and borders I added, our CDs came with 350 photos on it. You can view a slide show of some of my favorites!
Our family was so excited to go on our trip to Disneyworld the first week of October. We had so much fun every day exploring all the different parks. There really is something magic about a Disney vacation - no one does it like Disney can.
We spent the first two days at the Magic Kingdom where we finally rode the new Pirates of the Caribbean with Captain Jack Sparrow. The rides were a lot of fun and we met all the characters in Toon Town, even Cinderella's stepmother and stepsisters. In Tomorrowland we got to talk to Push, the talking garbage can, who is Spencer's favorite, and took some photos with him.
On the third day we went to Epcot where we went on Soarin' (a transplant from Disneyland Resort), the new Finding Nemo ride, and Fast Track a few times. Kerianne and the girls had lunch with the princesses while the boys and I wandered around the World Showcase sampling food from various countries represented at an international food festival.
The next day we went to MGM/Disney Studios where we saw the Indiana Jones show and saw all the cool Star Wars stuff and rode Star Tours. We went on the backstage tour ride and I got to be in the first part of the show where they had me put on a raincoat and I got to act as a boat captain as I got showered with rain and waves. It's so interesting to see how they make movies and see the studios there. Our family favorite Tower of Terror was a blast as usual (except for Kaylee), and Spencer was tall enough to ride Rockin' Roller Coaster.
At Animal Kingdom we rode the new Expedition Everest ride. Wow, that's an awesome ride. During the ride the Yeti appears and rips up the track and we slide backwards down the mountain. How cool is that! We watched the Nemo musical and I was very impressed with the talent of the actors and singers. We rode Dinosaur and the rides in the fair there. On the African safari ride, we saw more animals than I remember seeing there before. The boys and I went on Everest a few more times while the girls watched the Lion King show.
We spent our last day at the Magic Kingdom again going on all the rides just a few more times. If you've never ridden Aladdin's Magic Carpet ride in a full rainstorm, you're really missing out. We've never gone on Carousel of Progress before, but decided this trip to try it out. It was actually fairly interesting, enough so to go twice. While riding on the Transit Authority ride, we were going through the Space Mountain section and the lights were on in there! It was very strange to say the least to see Space Mountain with the interior lights on. We were so surprised I only caught a few seconds of it on the video camera.
We had a great trip. Of course we took a ton of photos - check out the slide show of a few of our favorites! We can't wait to go again!
